My grandfather taught me two very important things:
Tenacity- "Someone had to do it at least once"
Integrity- "Your name is the only thing you own & take with you when you go"
THE COMPANY: It started in 2004 as a part time home-based job for a single mom to earn extra money making custom upholstered headboards for a well known design firm in Naples, Florida. After many requests, furniture upholstery was also added. The happier my customers were, the more people they told, and by word-of-mouth the business grew.
In April 2007, I met Robert Crawford whom I married 5 months later. He joined the company adding his knowledge of blind repairs and On-Site and Ultrasonic cleaning. On January 1, 2008, we had out grown the garage and moved into our current location at: 2126 Andrea Lane Suite2 Fort Myers, FL 33912
Important Announcement: On Novemember 15th, 2011 we will be moving into our new 1600sqft space at 12951 Metro Parkway Fort Myers, FL 33966
LAURAL CRAWFORD: I have been sewing for over 30 years, everything from embroidery, to clothing to constructing my niece's canopy bed for her dolls.
I received my "formal" training from Drapery Den. Having been employed there for over 12 years, I learned to manufacture every window treatment and drapery treatment, including working shades and cornices.
Quality Control was my responsibility, so attention to details is a must! I have always had a great deal of pride in my workmanship, assigning my name to every piece I manufacture or reupholster. Swags are one of my specialties because it takes great patience and a certain "knack" to manipulate fabric.
I have worked with some of the top designers in Fort Myers/Naples area, including Design Group West, Gary David Designs, Susan Muller Interior Design, Eric Allen Interiors, Lifestyle Interiors, Denmark Interiors and Tamara Moore Interiors. I have had the privilege of having my window treatments adorn the houses showcased in Architectural Digest, Open House Periodical, and Gulfshore Life Magazine,as well as numerous builder models in the area's Parade of Homes Tour.
Eighteen years ago I added upholstering furniture to my resume. Paying attention to little details is what makes the difference between recovering and reupholstering. I take pieces down to the frame, replacing padding and adding padding as needed. My ultimate goal is to reward you with a piece that is better than what it was when it was first purchased. I never compromise on quality. I cannot and will not compete with what comes in from overseas! My prices are fair and competitive for the amount of work that goes into a piece.
I am experienced in diamond tufting and re-caning as well as on-site accoustical applications for home theaters and childrens' playrooms.
